About the event
What if dementia could speak for itself?
"Fragments of Memories" is a powerful new performance by Atlantic Fellow Idil Ozkan that blends music, theater, and artificial intelligence to explore the inner experience of dementia. Through the lens of lived experience and scientific insight, the piece invites audiences to feel how memory and identity unravel—and how art can help bridge the gap between research and humanity.
The premiere takes place Wednesday, June 18 at the San Francisco Community Music Center, featuring a live chamber ensemble and a post-performance panel with Özkan and experts from University of California, San Francisco, the Alzheimer's Association®, and the The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (AFTD).
